Nyishi conservationist from Arunachal Pradesh, Techi Gubin, has been awarded the Padma Shri award 2026 for social work. He dedicated his life to preserving the indigenous Donyi-Polo faith and strengthening national integration in border villages. He has built over 600 Donyi-polo cultural centres and raised the Tricolour in remote villages along India's borders with Tibet, Myanmar and Bhutan.
