A Unitarian Universalist techie in US won "religious exemption" to stop using AI for coding at work, saying it doesn't align with her religious beliefs over environmental and ethical concerns. "I'm writing my code...by hand, which seems crazy to say...How else would you do it...just two years ago?" the techie said. This comes after Pope Leo XIV flagged AI concerns.
