Tejas aircraft not a replacement for MiG-21 fighters: Govt

Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt on Monday informed the Parliament that Tejas fighter jets aren't being inducted as a replacement for MiG-21 jets. The jets are being inducted as part of efforts to modernise the Indian Air Force, he added. He further said that ₹6,653 crore have been spent on the manufacturing of 24 Tejas jets so far.
