Telangana to cut ministers' salaries by 50% to clear pension dues

Telangana government on Thursday decided to cut ministerial salaries by 50% to mobilise funds to clear long-pending dues of retired government employees. Telangana Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the cabinet aims to begin clearing dues within 100 days. The liabilities include around ₹6,200 crore for serving employees and ₹8,000 crore for retirees.
