Telecom gains as FPIs exit IT, FMCG stocks in 2025

Foreign investors exited Indian stocks across 17 sectors in 2025, led by heavy selling in IT, FMCG, and power. IT alone saw ₹74,698 crore of outflows. In contrast, telecom attracted ₹48,222 crore of inflows, followed by oil & gas and services amid a volatile equity market. Telecom and oil & gas were the top gainers.
