Tennessee cancels scheduled executions after woman survives 2 lethal injections
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee suspended all the remaining scheduled executions until at least the end of 2026 after a failed attempt to execute death-row inmate Christa Pike. The 50-year-old had survived two doses of the lethal injection drug pentobarbital during the execution attempt on September 30. Pike was sentenced to death for the murder of a 19-year-old classmate in 1995.
