Tens of thousands of women prepare 'pongala' for Attukal Devi

Tens of thousands of women gathered in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday to attend the ‘Pongala’ festival of Attukal Bhagavathy Temple. Women prepared ‘pongala’ in fresh earthen pots by lining up on either side of the roads for kilometres around the shrine. Several churches changed the timing of the Sunday Mass to accommodate the women.
