Tesla files to become an electricity provider in Texas: Report

Elon Musk-owned Tesla has filed to sell electricity directly to customers in Texas, media reports citing an application filed by the company said. Its new subsidiary, Tesla Energy Ventures, filed in mid-August with the Public Utility Commission of Texas to sell electricity on the retail market. Musk's name was not directly listed on the Tesla Energy Ventures' application.
