Texas judge who died in September remains on November 3 ballot

Brazoria County Justice of the Peace Richard Davis, a Republican who died on September 14, remains on the November 3 ballot as he died after Texas's August 21 removal deadline. Local officials said votes for him will count. If he beats Democrat Shenequa Harrison, county commissioners will appoint a replacement until the 2028 general election, reports said.
