Tharoor likens Budget to 'rearranging airbags on a crashing car'

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor criticised the Budget 2026, calling it an "underwhelming" and a "squandered opportunity". He likened it to "rearranging airbags on a crashing car while assuring the passengers that the chassis is sturdy and they will feel better afterwards." He added, "This is headline management – where promises are loud, budgets are grand, but delivery is conspicuously absent."
