Tharoor slams ‘racist’ trust membership rule at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Club

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said there is “absolutely no acceptable justification” for a racist provision at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Club. The club’s constitution reportedly restricts Trust Committee membership to European passport holders in Mumbai. Tharoor, who was denied entry to the club in 1960s for being Indian, questioned the Trust Committee rule, asking, “What about India's Constitution?”
