The first edition of 'The Guinness Book of Records' was published in Great Britain on this day in the year 1955. To date, the book has been translated into more than 20 languages and has sold over 13 crore copies, besides being the top-selling copyrighted title in history. It was initially intended to be given away for free in pubs.
