On Assam's river island Majuli, one man spent decades planting and nurturing a forest on land threatened by erosion and flooding. His effort transformed degraded ground into a thriving forest, providing habitat for wildlife stabilise the landscape. He showed how individual commitment, native trees and sustained ecological restoration can strengthen the resilience of vulnerable river islands.
