There are around 2.5 million ants for every human on Earth, says new study
There are around 20 quadrillion (20 followed by 15 zeroes) ants living on Earth, a new study has said. This means that ants far outnumber humans, with around 2.5 million ants crawling about for every human living today. The combined biomass of all ants on Earth amounts to 12 megatons of carbon, scientists said.
