Outgoing RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan on Saturday rejected the idea of the government taking a special dividend from the apex bank, saying that in economics "there is no free lunch". Some commentators suggest that public sector banks could be recapitalised entirely if only the RBI paid a larger dividend, he stated, adding that it was "not so simple".
