Thieves steal NVIDIA-labelled trailers hoping for AI chips, find 18,000 kg of sand

Two NVIDIA-labelled trucks belonging to self-driving truck developer PlusAI were stolen from its California warehouse, Wired reported. The thieves likely targeted the vehicles hoping to steal valuable AI hardware, but abandoned them after discovering they were carrying around 18,000 kg of sand. PlusAI said it uses sand to simulate cargo weight during test drives.
