Things earlier considered immoral are no longer immoral: SC in Sabarimala case
During hearings in Sabarimala case, Supreme Court judge Justice BV Nagarathna observed that in Indian society, "what was once considered immoral or obscene is no longer considered immoral or obscene". The government is challenging SC's 2018 judgment permitting entry of menstruating women into the temple. "The standards which existed in the 1950s are not the standards now," Justice Nagarathna said.
