Thousands evacuated amid floods due to rain in China's Chongqing

More than 2,600 residents were evacuated in China's Chongqing as heavy rainfall led to flooded streets and houses. Several rivers reportedly came close to overflowing. The authorities issued red alerts for some parts of the region. As many as 15 deaths were reported due to rain and mudslides last week.
