Thousands gather at Cauvery ghats for Mahalaya Amavasya

Thousands of devotees gathered at Cauvery River ghats in Srirangam, Tiruchirappalli, on Saturday for Mahalaya Amavasya. People from across Tamil Nadu took holy dips and performed tharpanam (ancestral rites). The turnout was notably higher as the occasion coincided with a public holiday. Many also visited the Ranganathaswamy, Jambukeswarar, and Samayapuram Mariamman temples.
