Thousands of Olive Ridley turtle babies emerge in Odisha
The much-awaited mass hatching of Olive Ridley turtles recently started at the Rushikulya River mouth in Ganjam district, Odisha. Thousands of turtle hatchlings emerged from the sandy pits and crawled towards the sea. Mass hatching takes place 50 to 60 days after nesting. The hatching is likely to continue for the next three to four days.
