Thousands of web pages of US government websites taken down

Over 8,000 web pages across several US government websites have been taken down since Friday, NYT reported. Another AFP report said that the affected websites are linked to departments of defence, commerce, energy, transportation, labour, the Central Intelligence Agency and the Supreme Court. Furthermore, employees of USAID, which is shutting down, were asked not to go to their offices.
