American tennis player Frances Tiafoe defeated his compatriot Alex Michelsen after rallying from two sets down and overcoming a 0-3 deficit in the fifth set of their US Open 2026 men's singles quarter-final. The 28-year-old won the match 5-7, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3, 7-6(10-6). Tiafoe will face defending champion Carlos Alcaraz or world number nine Ben Shelton in the semi-final.
