TikTok owner fires intern for sabotaging AI project

ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, has fired an intern for "maliciously interfering" with the training of one of its AI models. ByteDance denied rumours which surfaced on Chinese social media, claiming that the intern caused over $10 million worth of damage by disrupting thousands of GPUs. Reports about the extent of damage caused are exaggerated and inaccurate, it added.
