TikTok parent ByteDance's AI research head Wei-Ying Ma to quit company

TikTok's parent company ByteDance's head of artificial intelligence lab, Wei-Ying Ma, is leaving the company. He joined ByteDance from Microsoft to become a vice president and head of company's AI lab in 2017. His departure comes at a time when TikTok has been banned in India and the US is mulling a similar ban on the app citing security concerns.
