Tim Cook to step down as Apple CEO, John Ternus to replace him

Apple has announced that Tim Cook will step down as Apple's CEO and will become executive chairman of Apple's board of directors effective on September 1, 2026. John Ternus, senior Vice President of hardware engineering, will become Apple's next Chief Executive Officer, Apple further said in its announcement. Tim Cook joined Apple in 1998 and became CEO in 2011.
