Time not opportune: Argentina on declining invite to join BRICS

Argentina has formally announced that it will not join the BRICS group of nations. Argentine President-elect Javier Milei wrote a letter to leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, stating that the time isn't "opportune" for Argentina to join as a full member. Argentina was among six countries invited in August to join the bloc on January 1.
