Scientists at University of Kansas stated it's time to declare a new epoch, Lunar Anthropocene, on Moon. They stated humans have become dominant force shaping Moon's environment and argued the new epoch may have dawned in 1959 when unmanned spacecraft Luna 2 alighted on Moon. Scientists stated 'Lunar Anthropocene' concept might help dispel myth that Moon "is an unchanging environment".
