In a boost to PM Narendra Modi's Gold Monetisation Scheme, the world's richest Hindu temple, Tirupati Temple in Andhra Pradesh may soon become the biggest contributor with a deposit of 5.5 tonnes of gold. Andhra Pradesh's finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said, "We have already issued a directive to go for the scheme." The scheme offers up to 2.5% annual interest.
