Titan may have slushy tunnels that could support water: Study

Saturn's moon Titan may contain slushy water beneath its icy shell rather than a vast liquid ocean, a study suggests. Scientists analysed delays in Titan's shape changes under Saturn's gravity, finding strong internal energy dissipation. Thermodynamic analysis showed extreme pressure alters water and ice behaviour, creating a thick, slushy layer that may still support water beneath the icy crust.
