TMC's Abhishek writes to LS Speaker, seeks early disqualification of 20 rebel MPs

TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee on Monday submitted two letters to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla seeking "urgent" hearing of disqualification petitions against 20 rebel TMC MPs. Banerjee expressed "concern" over the five-week delay since filing petitions on June 19, stating that "inaction" undermines Constitution's 10th Schedule. The rebel faction claimed its merger with NCPI, which is backing BJP-led NDA.
