TMC's Maity arrested after Sandeshkhali women hit him with slippers

TMC leader Ajit Maity was arrested on Monday, a day after being removed from MLA's post in West Bengal. This comes after Sandeshkhali women hit him with slippers for his alleged ties with TMC's Shahjahan Sheikh, who's accused of sexual assault. Refusing the land-grabbing allegations levelled against him by women, Maity said, "I was attacked because I'm a TMC leader."
