TN announces ₹300 cr for modernisation of govt schools, students to get laptops & bicycles

Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Marie Wilson on Wednesday presented the TVK government's first Budget in the Assembly. The government earmarked ₹300 crore for modernisation of 3,734 state-run schools and allotted ₹2,000 crore to the laptop scheme for college students under 'Vettri Madikanini Thittam'. It also allocated ₹277 crore to provide bicycles to Class 11 students.
