TN Assembly passes resolution to make Tamil Madras HC's main language

The Tamil Nadu Assembly on Thursday passed a resolution to recognise Tamil as the principle language of the Madras High Court. The state seeks procedures to file petitions, documents and arguments, issue judgements and orders, and train judges and court staff in Tamil. The resolution asks the Union government and the President to approve the change.
