TN CM announces higher pensions, aid for freedom fighters, ex-servicemen on I-Day

Tamil Nadu CM Vijay announced higher pensions and financial aid for freedom fighters and ex-servicemen on Independence Day. The monthly pension for freedom fighters will be raised to ₹23,000, while the monthly pension given to families of freedom fighters will be raised to ₹12,500. The government also doubled the marriage assistance for the two daughters of ex-servicemen to ₹50,000.
