TN CM Vijay announces new ₹1,200 crore Assembly-Secretariat complex in Chennai

Tamil Nadu CM Vijay has announced plans to construct a new Assembly-cum-Secretariat complex in Chennai at an estimated cost of ₹1,200 crore. The 20-lakh-square-foot complex will integrate "all government departments into a modern, accessible, and eco-friendly facility," CM Vijay said. He added the existing Secretariat could not be expanded due to constraints of the 17th-century Fort St George.
