TN CM Vijay writes to PM, urges rejection of K'taka's Mekedatu dam proposal

Tamil Nadu CM Vijay has written to PM Narendra Modi seeking rejection of Karnataka's proposed Mekedatu dam project on the Cauvery river. The letter comes after Karnataka moved to begin the project's 'Bhumi Pujan'. Vijay cited 2018 Supreme Court judgment, which states that upstream states cannot build dams on the Cauvery without the consent of downstream states, including Tamil Nadu.
