TN Congress prez claims I-T dept raided his house, confined him; Dept denies

The Income Tax Department has denied allegations by Tamil Nadu Congress President K Selvaperunthagai that it raided his residence and prevented him from leaving his constituency. It affirmed that no searches were conducted, and his movement wasn't restricted. "The false and misleading statements...by him have been reported to ECI," it said, adding that a police complaint has also been filed.
