TN govt makes physical education mandatory for Classes 6-12

The CM Vijay-led Tamil Nadu government has made physical education classes mandatory for students in Classes 6 to 12 in all schools, including private institutions, from this academic year. An official said there were complaints that several private schools had failed to conduct such classes last year. The guidelines also mandate special sports training after school hours for interested students.
