TN govt reaffirms 21-yr age limit for alcohol purchase, asks shops to check IDs

Tamil Nadu government has reaffirmed 21-year age limit for purchase and consumption of alcohol in the state. The government's directive said there's a ban on selling liquor to anyone under 21, and shop staff should check Aadhaar cards or driving licences if in doubt. Earlier, the Vijay-led government had ordered the closure of 717 TASMAC-run liquor outlets in Tamil Nadu.
