Tamil Nadu Premier League is using the VJD method in place of the Duckworth-Lewis method for deciding adjusted scores in rain-affected matches. Devised by a Kerala-based engineer, V Jayadevan, the VJD method is inclusive of the teams' recent form and the changing scoring rates because of the play's halt. Notably, the Duckworth-Lewis method is widely considered to be "very mechanical".
