Archaeologists have found stone tools dating back to the Middle Stone Age near Mumbai's Manori beach, indicating human habitation in the area 10,000 to 15,000 years ago. Researchers estimated the tools date back to pre-agricultural times when human diets primarily comprised fish. Experts termed the finding remarkable as the city's existence is usually determined from when the Portuguese landed.
