Top 12 PSUs cut 23,300 jobs in FY24, Coal India sees biggest drop: Report

Of the top 16 public sector companies by market capitalisation, 12 reduced their headcount in FY24, CNBC-TV18 reported. They collectively cut their workforce by 23,306 employees, with Coal India seeing the biggest decline of 10,349 employees. The companies that added employees were SBI Life Insurance, GAIL India, Life Insurance Corporation of India and Bharat Electronics.
