Top Maoist leader Misir Besra with ₹1 crore bounty arrested in Jharkhand

Misir Besra, the last remaining Central Committee and Politburo member of the CPI (Maoist), was arrested in Jharkhand's Dhanbad after nearly two decades on the run. Carrying a bounty of over ₹1 crore, he was wanted in several cases involving attacks on security forces, extortion, arms movement and insurgency. Earlier on Tuesday, 16 Maoists surrendered before Jharkhand Police.
