Tortoises can slow down their ageing process: Study

Many species of turtles and tortoises can slow down ageing or even completely switch off senescence as their living conditions improve, a study stated. Accordingly, those living in zoos age slower than those living in wild. As they keep growing even after sexual maturity, they're believed to keep investing in repairing cellular damages, thus slowing down the process of ageing.
