Tourist jailed for pulling plug on sermon in Myanmar
Myanmar's court has sentenced Dutch tourist Klaas Haytema to three months in prison and a fine of K100,000 (about ₹5,200) after he unplugged an amplifier relaying a Buddhist sermon near his hotel in Mandalay. Reports said Haytema apologised and did not know that the loudspeakers were relaying religious content. Notably, Mandalay is the country's cultural capital and is religiously conservative.
