Tourists fined ₹2 lakh for driving into Ladakh's Pangong Lake, protected areas

A penalty of ₹50,000 each was imposed on four vehicle owners for driving their cars illegally into Ladakh's Pangong Lake and other protected wildlife zones. One of the cars was a Mahindra Thar, which was deliberately taken into the water for stunt purposes and polluted the lake. It's for the first time that such a strict penalty has been imposed.
