Town recognises trees as living being with rights in Canada

Terrasse-Vaudreuil, a town in Canada, has officially recognised trees as living beings with rights, making it the first municipality in the country to do so. The resolution was unanimously adopted by the town's council. Its articles include- trees are a common human good, life depends on them and humans must act towards trees in spirit of "fraternity and solidarity".
