'Toxic' named 'Word of the Year 2018' by Oxford Dictionaries

'Toxic' has been chosen as the 'Word of the Year 2018' by Oxford Dictionaries. Defining the word as "poisonous", Oxford Dictionaries said it had become a "descriptor for the year's most talked about topics". First appearing in English in the mid-17th century, from the medieval Latin toxicus, the word has been used to describe workplaces, schools, relationships, cultures and stress.
