Train from Lahore, 9 missing bags: HC ends 37-yr legal battle

A consignment of copper scrap dispatched from Lahore in 1989 finally reached end of its legal journey-37 years later-with Punjab & Haryana HC ruling that insurer failed to prove loss had occurred on Indian Railways. Litigation, arising out of cross-border consignment dispatched before Railways Act came into force remained alive for decades before it was finally brought to a close.
