Train passengers must know how meat has been cut: NHRC

Indian Railways has been issued notice over serving non-vegetarian food on trains after petitions by Sikh organisations. The National Human Rights Commission said passengers must be informed whether meat which is being served on train is 'halal' or 'jhatka'. In a letter, NHRC called the Railways' report incomplete and sought a fresh response from the Railway Board within four weeks.
